Slideshare: Why You Need a Formal Approach to Informal Learning

February 17, 2015
Learning is a highly personal journey. It is because of this that 98% of employees learn outside of structured courses in an informal way. Unfortunately, that means people spend 20-25% of their week trying to find answers to their questions because information is scattered throughout the organization. These numbers might cause you to think that many organizations have strategy in place to ensure that this informal content is findable, accessible and measureable, but in fact fewer than 20% actually do! Xyleme teamed up with Bryan Chapman, Chief Learning Strategist at Chapman Alliance, to develop an ebook on this important subject. We then turned that ebook into an easy-to-read slideshare presentation to help learning organizations take a formal approach to informal learning.
